Fields of Focus
Our work is to restore our ecosystem through agriculture and empower others locally, regionally, and globally to do the same.
We do this by modeling regenerative principles on the lands we steward and conducting essential ecological monitoring to verify our outcomes. We provide experiential learning opportunities to build the ecological literacy of our community and training intensives and workshops to help farmers and ranchers integrate regenerative principles into their work. Last but not least, we develop regeneratively-sourced products and viable business models to ground this work in our day-to-day lives.
The 1,000-acre Center for Regenerative Agriculture at Jalama Canyon Ranch, located in Santa Barbara County, is the home of our operations.
Land Stewardship
By actively practicing regenerative agriculture principles, we develop and model systems that support biodiversity, water resources, and soil health. From the backyard to 1,000 acres, our projects cover a broad range of microclimates and scales to demonstrate regenerative solutions applicable across Southern California and Mediterranean climates globally.
Education & Training
Our experiential education programs bring together diverse stakeholders to increase our community's ecological literacy and empower farmers and ranchers with the resources they need to adopt and spread regenerative agriculture.
Monitoring & Research
Our research focuses on monitoring the long-term impacts of our management practices on soil health, biodiversity, hydrological cycles, and ecosystem function. This data provides land stewards with critical intelligence to improve their operations and verify the ecological outcomes they produce, opening the door to new market opportunities.
Enterprise Development
Many ranchers, farmers, and entrepreneurs are eager to advance their land stewardship practices, they only need new revenue pathways to facilitate the change. We've created our own food brand, Figure Ate, to lead by example.
